the girl in pink: a self portrait

For once, I have nothing bad to say about myself.
I actually love these shots.
And I'm not hiding behind a lens. Rather, I'm in front of it.
Maybe it's because my face isn't on show. It's more about my emotion.
My body language. My mystery. My sensuality as a woman.
Because in every woman, this exists.
And I've allowed myself to believe that I can be that woman.

And this exercise has become my revelation of my bravery to accomplish self-portrait week.
I didn't think I could do it and love it.

Cotton candy wisps of white

They dance beneath me, those cotton candy wisps of white.
laying still on the surface, the feathery streaks;

A galaxy of stars.
Or billowed smoke that sits frozen in time.

As if they could softly catch me if I fell onto their pillowed niche.

sometimes when you're quiet it all happens around you

been quiet.

oblivion. observations. awareness.

catching up. rediscovering. learning.

been silent.

renewing. reviving. refreshing.

There is a light, that shines, special for you, and me..

Sometimes when I'm sad, I just sit in my lounge and watch the sunshine bounce through my space.
So when light came up as a subject for photo meditations this week, I could barely hold the excitement and waited for that moment the sun arrived.

It's just what I needed for that little bit of silence in my chaotic mind.
I'm glad I had time to watch that light shine into my space.
It always has made me just that little bit happier.

... and of course, the cuteness of my son who wanted to be in every shot. So I gave him his moment.

back to the beginning.

Last week meant going back to basics.

It meant picking up my camera and looking through it with fresh eyes.
what a wonderful insight.
what a perfect way to start back up again. it's been awhile since we hung out.

perhaps it could have stayed a little longer

September and October came and went.
It briefly said hello and left without a warning.
And now sweet November is here for me to remember.

Peacock feather overload? Yeah, I know.... ;P
